Some clients are clients, and other clients are family. The Sung family is unquestionably the latter. I've known them for several years now, so from the moment I walked through their door in the morning, I felt right at home. They made me my own plate of pancakes and bacon for breakfast, insisted that I also feed the giraffe when we were at the zoo, and even made up the bed in their guest bedroom so that I could take an afternoon nap...which I happily took advantage of :) If it's one thing I've learned from photographing Day In The Life sessions, it's that being a parent is exhausting, and if there's an opportunity to rest, then you should take it!
What I loved most about this session (aside from the mid-day nap!) was that it was truly a typical day for the Sungs. Going to the zoo, playing with their son, taking an evening stroll through the neighborhood--these are all activities that they enjoy together on a regular basis. They kept saying that they were a "boring family." I hope they, like me, see that their every day life is not boring, but full of beautiful/funny/sweet moments that are wonderful, and worth documenting.
I hope you enjoy their Day In The Life session as much as I did!
