You probably aren't aware of it, but your life is full of beautiful moments. This applies to your day-to-day going-ons, but it especially applies to the life you have created with your family. Even the most mundane interactions between you and your child - such as brushing his hair or helping her put on her shoes - are precious, because, no matter what the action is, you are doing it with LOVE...and that's what makes it worth documenting. I'm incredibly drawn to this Family Love. It's the reason why I specialize in documentary family photography, and why I'm so passionate about shooting Day In The Life sessions. With every image I create, and every scene that I photograph, I strive to capture this Family Love.
However, as much as I tell people that their every day life is wonderful, and full of beauty, they just don't believe it. So, I've been working on a project for the last several months that I hope will convince everyone that their seemingly boring, hum drum life is, in fact, simply amazing. With the help of some incredibly talented people, I now have a video that gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at my Day-In-The-Life sessions. My hope is that, when you watch the video, you can see that Family Love is fun, beautiful, worth a closer look, and certainly worth documenting.
This video wouldn't have come to fruition without the amazing and talented Brandon Parigo of Wirken Films, who conducted my personal interview and produced the film. Anyone who is interested in doing a promo film should really check him out. He's incredibly kind, patient, and engaging. And his work is just breath-taking - I don't think I've ever watched one of his films without shedding a tear.
The behind the scenes footage was filmed by a mentor and good friend, Jerry Verdin of FilmFotoFusion. Besides being incredibly talented, everyone at FilmFotoFusion has been so supportive, helpful, and encouraging of me and my photography career. I question whether I would even be a photographer if it wasn't for their support. Thanks guys, I love you all!
I would also like to thank the Liss and Webb families for allowing me into their homes to document their personal lives. You guys are the stars of the video, and are what makes it so great to watch :)
Please check out my video and let me know what you think!
