I've talked to a number of people who have shown interest in my Day In The Life sessions, but, upon hearing that a session normally lasts, on average, 13 hours, are daunted by the prospect of being photographed for an entire day. Some people cherish their weekends because it's their only free time during the week to focus on personal hobbies or family time, and are consequently hesitant to commit an entire precious Saturday or Sunday to a photography session. I totally understand where my clients are coming from, so I tell them that I have a wonderful alternative: A Mini Day In The Life Session!
My Mini Sessions are a maximum of four hours long, instead of a full-day commitment. They can be scheduled for any time of the day, and I can be tailored to photograph important family events. For example, if evenings are a time of shared family rituals, I can document a nightly session of family dinner, bath time, then reading stories before bed. It's a short period of time to photograph, and won't require the sacrifice of a full day.
When I spoke to Marisa about her Mini Session with her kids Scarlet and Owen, she really wanted me to capture a typical Sunday morning. During their session, I photographed Scarlet and Owen as they "helped" Marisa make pancakes for breakfast, checked the progress of their garden, ran foot races in the backyard, and got dressed and ready for the rest of the day. I was able to capture all of these activities in the early morning, which left them free to spend the rest of their Sunday as they wished!
